Horseback riding lessons - At Gilchrist Farm, we offer a holistic approach to horsemanship, teaching from foundational care to advanced riding skills in English, Western, and Driving disciplines. Whether you're preparing to own a horse, enhancing your bond with your current horse, or seeking a safe and enjoyable experience for all ages, our programs cater to your needs. From introductory lessons to advanced competition readiness, including fun show events, parades, and play days, we're dedicated to preparing you for arena success, show rings, or scenic trails.
Archery lessons - Experience archery with us, whether you're starting out or leveling up your skills! Safety is our top priority in every class. Master range commands and protocols for a secure environment. Learn expert techniques to enhance your shooting style and develop your skills under guided practice sessions.
Animal care and horsemanship class -Join our Animal Care Class to learn comprehensive care for chickens, ducks, peacocks, pigs, goats, sheep, bunnies, cows, and horses. Each session focuses closely on different animals—feed, brush, gather eggs, milk goats, groom horses, and understand animal care firsthand. Afterwards, continue with our Horsemanship Series covering horse handling safety, grooming, breeds, disciplines, cart driving, basic riding skills, and progressive learning tailored to each rider's abilities. This introductory class, spanning one and a half hours, emphasizes hands-on horse care alongside riding instruction.
Early Bird Camp and Spring Camp - Experience a week packed with horse care, grooming, and riding, culminating in a thrilling horse show with ribbons and prizes. Learn and enhance skills in English, Western, Driving, and Mounted Archery. Engage in hands-on activities like milking goats, gathering eggs, and interacting with animals like pigs, bunnies, ducks, and tortoises. Discover gardening, composting, and raising your own food, witness egg hatching, and care for chicks. Enjoy a variety of country arts & crafts such as soap making, candle making, leatherworking, rag doll making, and woodworking. Participate in fun games like milk jug bowling, horseshoes, corn hole, water balloon battles, tug of war, gunny sack races, and more. Delight in water play, obstacle courses, mud runs, and other exciting activities!
